Before you get in

• A few sections have little drop-offs — about a one-foot change in elevation. You float right down them and get splashed.
• Other than the marked spots, the whole thing moves at a slow pace.
• There are honestly a ton of places to get out. Follow the canal on Google satellite view and pick whatever works for your group.
• Timing depends on how fast the water is moving that day.
